Can non FIU students use the library?
Yes, the libraries are open to the public and anybody can visit and use most library resources in the building. Please note, all Library Guests will need to show an FIU OneCard/ID, state-issued ID, or some other form of government identification at the Guest Services Desk in order to access the building.
How do I rent a room at FIU library?
All online reservation requests forms will go directly to the venue’s space manager/event coordinator who will respond to and assist with your request. In case you need immediate assistance, please call the Central Reservations Office (C.R.O.) at 305-348-1100.
Where can I study at FIU?
Study spaces
- The libraries: The Green Library (MMC) and Hubert Library (BBC) are the go-to spots for studying.
- FIU@75: In addition to computer labs, FIU@75 offers reserved study spaces.
- The Sky Lounge: Started in 2010, Deuxieme Maison’s Sky Lounge converted a neglected courtyard into a beautiful, alfresco study space.

You can access digital library content from home! Just log into our home access portal using your FIU username and password and you’ll be ready to read, watch, listen, and learn right from the comfort of your home.
Is FIU library open to alumni?
Welcome Visitors, to FIU Libraries! Non-FIU affiliated visitors, alumni and FIU retirees will have access to the library during the following hours: Monday – Thursday: 9am-9pm. Friday: 9am-6pm.

The FIU Law Library provides a welcoming environment that is comfortable and conducive to study. Food and beverages are allowed on the second and third floors of the Law Library, except in study rooms, with additional limitations set out below.
How do I get a FIU library card?
To obtain a card:
- The Student will go to the FIU One Card Office at their respective campus.
- The Student is not responsible for payment for their first* FIU One Card.
- The Student must present a valid government-issued photo ID.
