I suspect that the inclines of the beaches are too steep, and shells just dont have much chance of washing up. The only shells on Maui worth collecting are found in the “Totally Hawaiian” and other jewelery shops and they are the very expensive Niihau shell lei’s. Incredible stories about them, very rare and precious!
