What is a Clevor engine?
What is a Clevor engine?
The Clevor is similar to the Boss 302. It consists of a Windsor block outfitted with Cleveland cylinder heads. It’s not limited to a particular displacement and can be built on a 302 or 351W platform. Unlike the old days, many off-the-shelf components are available for the Clevor.
Can you put 351 Windsor heads on a 351 Cleveland?
Putting Windsor heads on a Cleveland engine is possible, but you will need a custom intake manifold. Putting 351C heads on a 351W also requires a special but available intake manifold.
How much horsepower can a 351 Cleveland make?
The 351 was available as a two-barrel which was a basic engine and a four-barrel, or performance, engine. The two-barrel was rated at 240 horsepower while the four-barrel was rated at 285 horsepower.
Can I put 351w heads on a 302?
The 351 intake will not fit the 302 at all, it’s too wide. Early 351 heads had bigger valves but also a larger cumbustion chamber. Ford used to sell head bolts made for this. If the heads are for a later 351W, don’t even bother.
What’s better a 351 Cleveland or a 351 Windsor?
The 351 Cleveland is a member of the 335 series family of Ford small-block engines. Its large ports and oversize canted valves give it more horsepower and allow it to run at a higher rpm than the Windsor. The valve covers have a twisting curve and are attached by eight bolts.
What CC are stock 351W heads?
The best 351W head castings are C9OE-B, C9OE-D, D0OE-C, D0OE-G, D0OE-C, or the D5TE-EB truck head. All of these castings employ the same 60.4-cc chamber along with 1.84- to 1.54-inch valves. Beginning in 1978, the 351W chamber grew to 69 cc, resulting in lower compression.
What is the difference between 302 and 351W heads?
The 351W heads are the exact same size as 302/289 heads, just have bigger valves and combustion chamber. 302 intake/exhaust manifolds will still fit fine.
